Catching Up.......

Well, here I am again. I feel soooo horrible that I have not posted in a while. I'm sure I left a lot of people hanging since my last entry and I'm sorry about that. There is more to the ghost story, but I will tell it in a minute. Let me tell ya what I have been doing since I last posted (in  a nutshell anyway...)

Let's see....I have had yet another operation. But don't worry, it was very minor. Just some female problems. I'm back on my feet now. Unfortunately, my grandpa passed over this month and that has been pretty hard on me and my family. But as the old saying goes...time will heal all wounds. I'm just happy he and my grandma are together again.

I have also been working on  Magickalpair Realm, which is a very big job. Marlevane and I have added so many pages I don't know where to begin. I guess it would be better for you to take a peek at it rather then read about anyway. I have also been creating a couple new websites which are far from finished. One of them is called "Where the Fae Play" and is a site totally devoted to the faeries. The second one is going to be for my new Tarot business. I'm not going to share the links just yet since the sites are virtually empty, but please stay tuned for updates.

In addition to all of this, I my husband and I received our Level One Reiki training in January!! I'm so excited about it. Reiki is a truly awesome healing energy and my life has changed for the better because of it. I still have to take pain meds for my back condition, but not nearly so much. I am also able to withstand much more physically. It's a dream come true! Of course, Reiki is not a cure-all and I still have a crooked spine and still have quite a few problems, but Reiki has given me something countless doctors have not been able to....the confidence and ability to heal myself. On a more upsetting note....my Celtic grove is officially over. I have so much going on in my life, I found it impossible to run a coven too. It's so heartbreaking for me because I tried so hard. But, my plate is just too full for it. Also, a couple of members felt they wanted to go back to being solitary and a couple more of them are moving out of state. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. It was a great learning experience me and Marlevane and we made some very close friends because of our grove, so it is not a total loss.

Now for the Samhain Ghost.......

Yes, we did have a haunting and it was not pleasant. (If you don't know what I'm talking about please read the previous entry.) We were not sure were the spirit came from, but we knew we wanted it to leave our home. I seen it a couple of times and discovered it was a man, but he never communicated. He just manifested briefly and would vanish. But he made us all feel very uneasy and produced quite a bit of poltergeist activity. The final straw was one night while me and the family were watching Charmed. (It was in December.) It was around 11:00 at night when we all heard heavy footsteps upstairs above us. We didn’t think much of it at this time, because we thought it was our cat being rambunctious. After our show was over Marlevane said he felt uneasy. After we came upstairs, we seen that he had a very good reason to feel uneasy…our “house guest” had bent the upper rod of our metal bed into a “V” shape. This spirit was obviously very strong, so we decided it was time to do something about it.

I called my mother up and asked if she could take Ariana for the rest of the night. She said yes so we took her over there. When we came home, we set up all of our equipment and attempted to conduct an investigation. (A ghost hunter will always try to collect eveidence....even if it is on a personal level.) But unfortunately, the spirit would not cooperate. Each piece of our equipment malfunctioned and could not get a positive reading at all. Obviously this spirit did not want to communicate, so we felt it was time to help (or force rather) the spirit over to the other side. I wrote a banishing ritual and it worked great and we have not had a haunting since. Here is the ritual, just in case you have a similar problem:

The Ritual (the condensed version):

Step 1: Try to make contact with the spirit, to try to reason with it.

Step 2: If reasoning doesn’t work, then it’s time to exorcise the spirit by sprinkling mugwort water in the heart of the house while saying:

“O Lady and Lord of love and of light
Be with us now as we make this flight.
Banish this spirit with in our sight
Remove this spirit from our house this night
Push this spirit back to whence it came
And don’t allow it back, by your Holy names!

Step 3: Repeat step 2, but this time burn a mixture of frankincense and thyme while saying the chant.

Step 4: Repeat step 2 , but this time sprinkle salt while saying the chant.

Step 5: Repeat step 2, but this time illuminate a black candle in the room while saying the chant.
Step 6: Do steps 2-5 until you have done every room and closet in your home.

Step 7: Next, sweep the whole house counterclockwise while visualizing all lingering spirit residue and/or negative energy being swept away. Say this chant while you sweep:

“Witches broom, swift in flight,
Cast out darkness, bring in light!” (I did not write the besom chant)

Step 8:  Now visualize the each room being filled with the goodness of the Lord and Lady. See them taking the spirit to the Other Side. Now, take the mugwort infusion and draw an invoking pentagram on each window, mirror and doorway while saying:

“Herb of protection and psychic sight
Block this portal all day and night.
If evil draws near, may these symbols glow white
And blow evil away like wind to a kite!”

Thank the Lord and Lady for helping you and the rite is done!

Would it work just as well in trying to banish a spirit by using your format, but instead of using your sayings, use Biblical passages?
I trully am curious about this.

I personally do not see one tiny problem with using Bible verses instead of Wiccan texts. To banish a spirit from your dwelling you have to be as comfortable as possible with the ceremony and the Divine energies you call upon to aide you.

Deity....whether He/She is the Christian God, Jesus, a Pagan God and/or Goddess, etc...are there to protect you and guide you through life. Even though I personally believe that the Pagan Gods are distinctively different from the Christian God, (most Wiccans feel that "All Gods are One God") I also feel that we all have the same common goal no matter which path we take to the Divine.

So in short, yes, I do feel that the ritual I wrote would work just as well with Bible verses instead. :) If you need any more help or would like to tell me a little more about your haunting, feel free to post back or e-mail me personally at: magentarose@magickalpair.net Sometimes it helps to have someone to talk to for support. I'm so glad that you agree with my thinking.
Yep, I'm a christian that believes there is nothing wrong with utilizing natural resources along with the wisdom of our beliefs.

I figure if basil repels flies and cucumber skins repels roaches, then why isn't it possible that certain spices, herbs or scents would repel or attract spirits.

I'm thankful to the good Lord above, that so far, we haven't experienced an intruder spirit that required more than saying a prayer or Bible verse to be free of it.

I really do appreciate your thoughts. You've given me much to think about.

I am very sorry to hear about your grove, my friend. Kinda the ending to an important chapter in your life but the beginning of some new ones, which is always very cool to see in a friend's life. And the banisihing worked well...I would be curious to find out what initially atracted the entity to that particular location. You were living there for a spell (no pun intended..hehe) before it began to manifest right? Any thoughts on that? Could it have been there all along do you think? Hey, you know me...lol. Always with the questions...hehehe...Am looking forward to your fae site. And Linguistic Intelligence as well? Now that's cool...lol.
